What people say about us

Paola, BCHN Healthy Start client

“I want to say thank you to the Bronx Community Health Network for supporting me through my motherhood journey. I learned about postpartum, lactating, and all the support that you can receive during your transition. My daughter and I want to say thank you so much.”

Community member who watched BCHN’s Asthma Metered Dose Inhaler video

“After stumbling across the BCHN asthma video online, I learned about using a spacer for the first time.  I am now breathing easier as a result.”

Krystal, BCHN client

“Thank you and Peter for reaching out and helping me resolve my issue with Catholic Charities…Peter has provided me with unceasing support these past few years. When Peter first reached out to me after my cancer surgery in 2019, he has been a tremendous advocate and a tower of support! Yes, a “TOWER” that knows no bounds! For me and my family Peter has been a GODSEND ever since! I honestly don’t know where I would be if not for Peter’s continued support and assistance these past years. I have made it through emergency cancer surgery, 2 years of COVID and being homebound while suffering with chronic Sciatica! Through it all, Peter is just a phone call away!”

Noelia, BCHN Client

“I’m…a single mother of a 7-month-old baby and I am unemployed for now due to the pandemic. I am very grateful for the help with diapers, I have now received it twice and I would like to continue to have that great help! I am very grateful to you, you do good social work to help the community with the donation of diapers since it is the most expensive part of the essential purchase of having a baby! Keep it up god bless you.”

Bay Eden Senior Center Blood Pressure Group Member

“I joined the program at Bay Eden but only went a few times. Since the pandemic, Verona started calling me every week and I really look forward to her call. I wait for the phone to ring every Wednesday. She asks about my blood pressure and always wants [to know] how I’m doing, if I am able to go out for food and if I was able to see or speak to my doctor. I’m 92 years old so I really don’t go outside if I [don’t] have to, so I am always happy to hear her voice.”

“Thank you for following up with me when my blood pressure is high and letting me know what I can do to bring it down.” “Thank you for your call every week. I really look forward to it.” “Thank you for getting me a blood pressure machine. I feel more comfortable now that I can check it myself. I missed getting it checked every week.” “It is so nice knowing you care enough to call me back when you miss me the first time.”

Invest in access to high-quality healthcare in our community.
Many FQHCs in New York City and across the country cultivate philanthropic investment to bring a broader range of programs and health care services than federal grants and fees for patient services allow for.
Philanthropy opens the door to improving the organization’s core capacity, acquiring much-needed equipment, expanding preventive services, hiring doctors and nurses, enabling greater community outreach through our Community Health Workers, & so much more.
